Rivers LG chairman removes Wike’s name from secretariat building, dares arsonists to act

Former Rivers State governor and FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, has been dealt another humiliating blow in his ongoing political war with incumbent Governor Siminalayi Fubara, after the newly inaugurated chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Chijioke Ihunwo, ordered the removal of his (Wike’s) name from an administrative building in the council secretariat.

Ihunwo, a staunch loyalist of Fubara, gave the order on Monday when he visited the council secretariat following his inauguration on Sunday by Fubara.

Describing Wike as someone who has not allowed the people of the state to rest, Ihunwo mandated that the Minister’s name be blotted out from the administrative block and be renamed after the late Senator Obi Wali who was murdered by suspected assassins in 1993.
