17 ISWAP terrorists drown attempting river crossing on Nigeria-Niger border

At least 17 militants belonging to the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorist ring have reportedly perished while attempting to cross a river between the villages of Kafetoa and Bulabulin Gaidam, which lie along the border between Nigeria and Niger Republic.

The insurgents were reportedly trying to reach Tam village in Niger Republic, near the Nigerian village of Kannamma in Yobe State, when they met their waterloo.

Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the militants were swept away by strong currents as they attempted the crossing.

The terrorists were displaced from some of their bases, which include Bulabulin Geidam, Chettimari, and Diffan in Nigeria-Niger and along the borders.
