Nothing must happen to Kanu, IPOB warns Nigerian govt over deteriorating health of Biafran agitator

The outlawed Igbo secessionist group, Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has warned the Nigerian government over the deteriorating health condition of its incarcerated leader, Nnamdi Kanu, saying there will be harsh consequences if anything should happen to him.

The group which raised the alarm in a statement on Monday, lamented that despite Kanu’s failing health, the Directorate of State Service (DSS), has refused to release him to go for a proper medical treatment despite several courts granting him bail.

The statement issued by IPOB’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, alleged that it had discovered a plot by the President Bola Tinubu-led government, in connivance with some Igbo politicians to eliminate Kanu while in detention.
