Two wood merchants, identified as Ahohe Seido and Dogbon, are missing following a boat accident in the Gbòde Jedo River in Odofin, Ipokia Local Government Area of Ogun State.
The incident occurred early Thursday morning when a severe storm capsized the boat carrying the merchants.
The accident happened around 7:00 am, prompting local divers to search for the missing individuals. According to reports, the merchants were transporting firewood from their village to Benin Republic when the storm hit, causing the boat to overturn.
Omolola Odutola, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, confirmed the incident, stating that while the other passengers were rescued, Seido and Dogbon have not been found.
