Enugu Govt Blames Consultants, Suspends Levies On Solar Energy, Generators After Uproar

The government of Enugu State, Wednesday, said it has suspended collection of levies on solar energy and generators as part of its broader framework on industrial gas emission levy as contained in the Environmental and Climate Protection Law of the state.

There was uproar and condemnation when the government began the levies forcing it to disclose that the levy had been suspended on August 29, 2024, and that the consultancy contract was terminated immediately.
