Tinubu’s aide, Onanuga insists, govt didn’t lie about fuel subsidy removal

The Presidency yesterday clarified that the President Bola Tinubu administration was no longer paying fuel subsidy amid reports that the government was still subsidizing petroleum product.

The Special Adviser to Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, made the clarification on his verified X (formerly Twitter) yesterday.

Onanuga maintained that subsidy provisions had disappeared from Nigeria’s budget and were not included in the supplementary budget of 2023.
