Tech giant Meta and music streaming platform Spotify have kicked against European Union privacy regulations regarding open source Artificial Intelligence.
CEO Daniel Ek, who is the CEO of Meta and Spotify, lamented in a joint statement posted to their websites on Friday that EU privacy laws about artificial intelligence were impeding progress.
According to Meta, for example, regulators haven’t yet created legislation to address how this should be handled, which has stopped the company from training its AI models on public data from Facebook and Instagram.
