President Bola Tinubu has inaugurated Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun as the new Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN).
This makes her the second female to hold the position.
The inauguration took place at a ceremony held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun took the oath of office and signed the oath register at 11:40 am. She becomes the 23rd Chief Justice of Nigeria.
Justice Kekere-Ekun succeeds Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, who retired from office on Thursday after attaining the mandatory retirement age of 70 years. Ariwoola served as CJN since June 27, 2022.
