A’Ibom: PDP elects executive committee members, national delegates

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Akwa Ibom, on Saturday elected executive committee members for the 31 local government areas in the state.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Akwa Ibom, on Saturday elected executive committee members for the 31 local government areas in the state.

The party also elected one national delegate each from the 31 local government areas.

Mr Borono Bassey, the Publicity Secretary, told newsmen on Sunday in Uyo that the executive committees would serve for four years.

Bassey said that each of the local government areas had a total of 18 executive committee officers, which included a physically challenged person.

He commended members of the PDP for their peaceful disposition, unity and conduct during election.

He said that Gov. Umo Eno had remained focussed towards positioning the party for electoral victories.

Mr Aniekan Akpan, the Chairman of the party, said that the party belonged to the people, adding, “we must continue to serve the people’s interest.

“Our party is privileged to stay as the most loved and preferred political party by our people.

“So we must continue to do things that will improve our people’s welfare. Things that will make people to continue to admire and choose our party,” he said.(NAN)
