Groups Sensitise Households On Nutrition

A non-governmental organisation (NGO), Society For Women Development And Empowerment in Nigeria (SWODEN) and the Association of Women Living with HIV/Aids (ASWHAV) yesterday organised a sensitisation workshop on the importance of nutrition.

Speaking with journalists, the executive director of ASWHAV and SWODEN focal person in Kebbi State, Ms Esther Hiindi, said no fewer than 100 participants were drawn from five local government areas of the state including; Gwandu, Augie, Bunza, Maiyama and Argungu.
She added that at the end, the male motivators would go back home and sensitise their wives on the importance of visiting hospitals for Anti-Natal-Care and child mortality.

Hindi appealed to participants to use what they learned from the workshop by changing the culture of not allowing women to visit hospitals for ANC and other nutrition for their safety.
She commended the Kebbi State government and the Nutrition International Office in the state for their collaborations towards the success of the workshop.
