The leader of the Group of 60 (G-60) opposition lawmakers in the House of Representatives, Ikeagwuonu Michael Ugochinyere, has deemed the ward congresses held in Rivers State last Saturday as null and void, lacking any legal effect.
Ugochinyere, who also chairs the House Committee on Petroleum Resources (Downstream), cautioned Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Olatunji Disu, and Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, against repeating the past mistakes of former CP Joseph Mbu, who allegedly turned the state into a “theatre of the absurd” in 2013 and 2014 to support Nyesom Wike’s political ambitions.
