President, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu Passes On

Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, the President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, has sadly passed on at 82 years old.

The death was confirmed to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday, July 25, 2024, in Enugu, by Ohanaeze Ndigbo Publicity Secretary Dr. Alex Ogbonnia.

According to the secretary, “Today is a bad day for Ndigbo. It’s true! Ahaeji aga Mba is gone. Ohaneze is yet to issue an official statement on the demise of our President General, Chief Iwuanyanwu, but he is gone.”

After the unexpected passing of his predecessor, Professor George Obiozor, on April 20, 2023, Iwuanyanwu, was chosen as President General of the leading Igbo cultural institution.

A prominent Nigerian businessman, politician, and philanthropist Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu is well-known for his important contributions to a variety of fields, especially in the Igbo community and beyond.
