NMDPRA Boss says Dangote refinery is only at ‘45% completion and Not Licensed Yet

Speaking to Journalists, Farouk Ahmed, the chief executive of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority announced that “ Dangote Refinery is still at its pre-commissioning stage. We have not licensed them yet, so we cannot rely upon them to feed the nation”.

He also said that Dangote was requesting the authority to stop other firms from importing petroleum products and direct all marketers to his refinery but that would not be good for the market and would be a monopoly.

He maintained that in terms of quality, the refinery still had some work to do because the imported petroleum products were of better quality.

The Chief Executive of Mr. Farouk Ahmed is the pioneer & serving Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, an institution which is charged with the responsibility of administering the regulatory oversight of the Midstream & Downstream Petroleum Operations in Nigeria.

The Authority is responsible for the technical and commercial regulation of the midstream and downstream operations in Nigeria.
