Three days of mourning have been proclaimed by the Plateau State government in remembrance of the lives lost in Friday’s building collapse of Saint Academy School.
The Plateau State govenrment ordered all flags to fly at half-mast during the three-day mourning period, which runs from July 13 to July 15, in remembrance of the victims of the school building collapse.
This was disclosed on Saturday, July 13, 2024, in a statement that was signed by Musa Ashoms, the Plateau State Commissioner for Information.
When the school building in Busa Buji, Jos North Local Government Area of the state collapsed during classes, no fewer than 22 people lost their lives and numerous instructors and pupils were injured.
When the Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang visited the school on Saturday, July 13, 2024, he urged people to rigorously adhere to building rules and ethics in order to prevent tragedies like this building collapse, and offered his sincere condolences to the families affected by the tragic incident.
He stressed that all developers and property owners must submit their building plans for revalidation and verification to the Jos Metropolitan Development Board (JMDB).
