Alliance Franciase, with support from the French Embassy, has begun a talent hunt project in Rivers State to enable local artists and music producers to grow in the entertainment industry.
The project, according to the Director of Alliance Franciase in Port Harcourt, Mrs Marina Lacal, would create more opportunities for youths to showcase their talents, keep them engaged and make them become self-reliant.

Lacal noted that the project would also promote Nigeria’s indigenous culture, adding that the organisation is involved in variety of engaging activities such as dance performances, music showcases, film screenings, exhibitions, and informative discussions.
She expressed hope that Alliance Franciase activities would gradually produce music stars and also enable the people to become fluent in French. She spoke at the recent event to mark the world music day.
It was also gathered that the project will reactivate happy moments in the city as the people play music and enjoy themselves through music, it will also reduce youths’ restiveness and insecurity.

The President of Alliance Francise in Port Harcourt, Mr. Elemchukwu Eke, explained, “We are quite a small organisation but we are trying to be a platform for any artists to enable them step out from the unknown to become prominent.”
“Most of the artists don’t have any place where they can go and be showcased. No one will give them their chance, but we open application and then we bring them on stage where they have the audience, share their talents and definitely get more contracts of expense.”
Eke disclosed that about 15 of the artists were given opportunities to showcase themselves and also work towards ensuring that they are growing and having proper space to excel.

He expressed willingness to cooperate with the state government in supporting the local artistes and make them grow.
“We know everything is costly now and Alliance Franciase can create opportunity by shaping their talents ”
