The Kwara State Government has embarked on the reconstruction of the long-abandoned Patigi Regatta Motel in Patigi town, aiming to bolster the state’s tourism sector.

The renovation of the Patigi Regatta Motel, which is set to last eight months, will include the addition of shopping areas and an expansive parking space, according to the Honourable Commissioner for Business, Innovation and Technology (BIT), Damilola Yusuf.

The revamped motel will feature standard rooms, VIP suites, a conference hall, restaurants, and courtyards, enhancing its appeal as a premier tourist destination.

Located along Kpada Road (Federal Road) and just 1500 metres from Kusogi Park, the site has already been handed over to the contractor for commencement of work.

This comprehensive overhaul is part of the state government’s strategy to expand tourism potential, create jobs, and boost revenue generation.
The facility is expected to play a significant role once the annual Patigi Regatta and Fishing Festival is revived, offering recreational opportunities in the region.
