Governors of the five South-East states of Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo, Tuesday, resolved to meet President Bola Tinubu to discuss political solutions for a possible release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, is being held in the custody of the Department of State Services in Abuja. He is being tried over alleged terrorism. He has been in detention since 2021 when he was renditioned from Kenya to Nigeria by Nigeria’s secret security agents in collaboration with their Kenyan counterparts.
