Reactions From Nigerians as Floods Hit Lekki, Other Major Cities

As the rainy season hits full swing, some states in Nigeria are at the forefront of the flooding crisis that is associated with the season, the most affected area being Lekki, Lagos State.

The Lekki-Epe expressway is one of the many areas that has always been affected by the flooding menace and this year, it is no different.

However, in an effort to provide people with respite, the Lagos State Government has stated that it is committed to addressing the floods in Agungi and the surrounding areas along the Lekki-Epe expressway in Eti-Osa Local Government Area, Oshodi, 3rd mainland brideg, Ikeja, etc, by building a larger collector along the axis and other designated places.

Nigerians who are famous for finding humour amid their hardships and difficulties have taken to the streets of X (formerly known as Twitter) to react to the current situation.

Some have joked about how they would message their HRs at the office about their inability to report to work because of the flooding situation.

However, others are worried about the same issues reoccurring without any tangible progress to ameliorate the sufferings from the government.
