Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr. Folashade Yemi-Esan on Saturday claimed that Nigeria has the most hardworking and intelligent civil servants in the world.
Yemi-Esan made this claim in Abuja at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium during the servicfec e sports program as part of activities to commemorate the 2024 Civil Service Week with the theme ‘Educate an African fit for the 21st Century.
The head of Service who frowned at inadequate use of the wellness facility that cost the government so much fortune to put in place, informed civil servants that exercise is necessary to enable them deliver appropriately on their various places of work.
“I am always proud of civil and public service. Nigeria has the best civil service in the world. And I can say that confidently anywhere that Nigerian Civil Servants are very hardworking and extremely intelligent,” she said.
“This exercise is very, very important. Exercising is just as important as feeding your tummy and feeding your mind. We must not forget that. For us to be productive we must exercise regularly.
“For us to give in our very best, our body must be healthy. So, apart from this monthly walking, jogging, please ensure that you have a routine where you exercise regularly.”
According to Yemi-Esan, the federal government has also employed counsellors at the wellness Center to ensure that those taking advantage of the centre are well taking care of and their problems are solved before leaving the centre.
“We also have a wellness center that some people are taking very, very good advantage of, but some people don’t even know where it is,” she said.
“Please civil servants, we have spent a lot of resources to ensure that your body is healthy or your mind most especially is very healthy.
“We have counselors on the Wellness Center who you can just go there and sit and chat with even if possible, they can solve your problems.
“You know that a problem shared is a problem solved. So please let us make use of that wellness center. It is very very important that we do.”
