Fireboy DML was born and raised in Abeokuta, where he developed an interest in music at a young age. He was a member of his church choir and began writing music during his teenage years. He studied English Language at Obafemi Awolowo University, where he began his music career.
Fireboy DML’s breakthrough single “Jealous” was released in 2019 and became a massive hit, earning him a nomination for Song of the Year at the 2020 Soundcity MVP Awards Festival. His debut studio album, “Laughter, Tears and Goosebumps,” was released in 2019 and featured hit singles like “What If I Say” and “King.”
In 2020, Fireboy DML released his sophomore album, “Apollo,” which featured the hit single “Peru.” The song became a global hit, peaking at number 2 on the United Kingdom’s Official Singles Chart in 2022. He has collaborated with several international artists, including Ed Sheeran, Madonna, and Justin Timberlake.
