It is Impossible for North to Have a Single Presidential Candidate in 2027 – Galadima

A prominent member of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Buba Galadima, expressed his views on the possibility of a single presidential candidate emerging from the northern region in the 2027 election.

Galadima, a former National Secretary of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), said that in a democratic setting like Nigeria, individuals have the freedom to make their own choices.

When asked if the northern region would unite behind a single candidate, either Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) or Rabiu Kwankwaso of the NNPP, Galadima said, “We are not in a church or mosque, where we must speak with one voice. That is the beauty of democracy. Even among three people, you’ll find different perspectives on solving a problem.”

Galadima also alleged that the NNPP’s votes in the 2023 general elections were suppressed, claiming that over five million of their votes were not counted.

“NNPP is doing well, despite the suppressed votes. We discovered that our votes were suppressed, with over five million votes unaccounted for,” he stated in a recent interview with The Sun.
