The tripartite committee met again today, Friday, June 7, 2024, at the Nicon Luxury Hotel in Abuja to resume discussions on the new national minimum wage.
This is the fifth meeting that the organized labour members have had with the committee since they suspended their nationwide strike.
The committee aims to decide on a final agreed figure for the new minimum wage to present to the National Assembly for approval.
Important participants in the ongoing meeting include the Nigeria Governors’ Forum Director General, the State Minister of Labour and Employment Nkiruka Onyejeocha, the Governor of Imo State Hope Uzodimma, the Finance Minister Wale Edun, and the Minister of Budget and National Planning, Atiku Bagudu.
