The 44-year-old Maresca has reportedly nodded yes to the Blues’ project, and it is now up to the clubs to agree on compensation with the East-Midlands side.
Maresca has surpassed other notable candidates such as Brentford’s Thomas Frank and Brighton’s Roberto De Zerbi in the race for the Chelsea job per SkySports.
Both Frank and De Zerbi had been considered strong contenders, but Maresca’s recent achievements and potential for future success have placed him ahead in the selection process.
