The Lagos State government on Monday commenced the removal of shanties and illegal business structures under Ijora Bridge.
This came after the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (LSESC) served a 24-hour notice to the illegal occupants and business operators squatting under the bridge.
Tokunbo Wahab, the state commissioner for environment and water resources, posted videos on the demolition of the shanties on X.
The spokesperson of the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), Folashade Kadiri, recently said the government plans to clear illegal squatters from the Ijora Under Bridge over environmental concerns.
