One-year-old Ghanaian, Liam Ace, has broken the Guinness World Record (GWR) to become the youngest male artist in the world, breaking American Dante Liam’s 21-year record at age three since 2003.
Liam’s attempt to break the GWR commenced in Accra, Ghana, at the Soundout Premium Exhibition in the Museum of Science and Technology on December 15, 2023, an exhibition which rounded up on January 21, 2024.
Liam’s mother, Chantelle Eghan, who had received GWR’s approval email recognising him as the youngest male artist, took to Instagram on Thursday to announce the feat.
Chantelle clarified that her son did not have to participate in a paint-a-thon to qualify for GWR, he only needed to make paintings, be in an exhibition, make sales and send receipt proofs to GWR with a social media handle and media coverage to confirm the event.
While speaking in an interview with JoyNews Ghana, Chantelle, who is also a painter, narrated that Liam fell in love with cookies and had started painting since he was six-month-old.
