A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Eze Chukwuemeka, has pleaded with the judiciary to save Rivers State from imminent crisis by expediting action in laying to rest all speculations about the legitimacy or otherwise of the members of the Rivers State House of Assembly, who defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He stated that given the situation, it appears the presidency is enjoying the actions of the defected lawmakers, who are loyal to the FCT minister, Chief Nyesom Wike.
Eze, in a statement issued in Port Harcourt yesterday, accused the pro-Wike lawmakers, led by the speaker, Rt Hon Martins Amaewhule, of passing illegal laws to weaken the powers of Governor Siminalayi Fubara to govern the state to the pride of her citizens.
He warned that if the actions of the Amaewhule-led lawmakers were not checked, they may summon the courage to start impeachment process against the governor anytime very soon.
