Tolu Arokodare: KRC Genk provide injury update on Nigeria star who slumped against Club Brugge

KRC Genk’s striker Tolu Arokodare has not suffered any major complications after suffering an ugly end to the match against Club Brugge at the weekend, Soccernet.ng reports.

Club Brugge, parading Super Eagles midfielder Raphael Onyedika, pulled off a stunning 3-0 victory at the Cegeka Arena, the traditional home of Genk, on Saturday, April 28.

Arokodare played only 63 minutes of that encounter after he was forced out due to injury.

The Nigerian forward collided with Club Brugge goalkeeper Nordin Jackers in the second half of the clash and fell to the ground, needing treatment.

The former FC Cologne star tried to shake off the feeling of being unwell, but he had to be replaced by Swiss attacker Andi Zeqiri.

Despite his condition improving over the rest of the weekend, Arokodare still honoured an appointment with a neurologist on Tuesday for additional examination.

The results show that the ex-Amiens man has no serious health concerns, but he has been advised to take six days off for full recovery.

However, according to a statement from Genk as per Voetbal24, the club will continue to monitor Arokodare’s condition daily.

Arokodare, 23, has nine goals and two assists in 32 Jupiler Pro League games for Genk.

Genk have only a slim chance of winning the league title this season as they are eight points behind the duo of Club Brugge and Anderlecht in the Championship Round.
