The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), has restated its commitment to assist the Nigerian Navy and other security agencies operating in the Niger Delta region, assuring them of the Commission’s continuous support and collaboration to ensure sustainable peace. The NDDC Managing Director, Dr Samuel Ogbuku, stated this during a courtesy visit by the Flag Officer Commanding, Eastern Naval Command, Rear Admiral Sahid Akinwande and the Commander of Nigerian Navy Ship, NNS, Pathfinder, Commodore Desmond Igbo, at the NDDC headquarters in Port Harcourt.
The NDDC Chief Executive Officer stressed the need for collaboration to ensure that the Niger Delta region remained peaceful, noting that development could only take place in an atmosphere of peace and security.
