Cyriel Dessers puts two past Hearts to set up the Old Firm derby in the Scottish Cup final

Super Eagles and Rangers striker, Cyriel Kolawole Dessers, scored a brace in the Scottish Cup semi-final to send the Gers to the final, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 29-year-old striker was recalled into the Rangers starting line-up by Philippe Clement after he came off the bench in his team’s goalless draw against Dundee United.

The Nigerian forward broke the deadlock in the fifth minute to settle any early nerves. A short pass from former Norwich City man, Todd Cantwell found Dessers in the box. The former PSV man dropped his opponent with a brilliant body feint before burying the ball into the bottom corner with his left foot.

The duo linked up for the second of the game with thirteen minutes left on the clock. Cantwell went on another mazy run, pulling three Hearts defenders with him, before selflessly laying the pass to Dessers.

Craig Gordon saved his first shot, but his rebound found the back of the net, and that was enough to send the Teddy Bears to the final of the Scottish Cup.

Dessers has now scored nineteen goals and recorded another eight assists in 47 games for Philipp Clement’s men this season. They will play against Celtic in the final of the Scottish Cup on the 25th of May.
