Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic, Bauchi has become the first institution that will undergo digital accreditation from the National Board of Technical Education (NBTE), in the country.
The rector of the polytechnic, Dr Hashim Bello, disclosed this at the matriculation of the 2023/2024 academic session yesterday in Bauchi.
He, however, attributed the delay for some of its courses to be accredited to the ongoing NBTE digital process and vowed to work round the clock towards providing a conducive environment for effective teaching and learning to the students in the Polytechnic
Bello described matriculation as a cardinal requirement for qualifying admitted students as a bonafide member of a Polytechnic hence the need for the admitted students to fully support the polytechnic communities for smooth running of the academic activities.
He enjoined the newly admitted students to be law-abiding with the rules and regulations of the Polytechnic and to concentrate on their studies for the rapid development of society.
He appreciated the leadership style of Governor Bala Mohammad of the state for supporting the higher education system in the state.
LEADERSHIP reports that administering the oaths of allegiance to about 4000 admitted students, the register of the Polytechnic, Mr Lawal Sambo urged the admitted students to refrain from any social vices such as examination malpractice and cultism among other neglect behaviours.
