The Federal Government of Nigeria has declared Tuesday, April 9 and Wednesday, April 10, 2024, as public holidays to mark this year’s Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.
The declaration was made by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the Federal Government in a statement signed by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Aishetu Ndayako.
The minister further congratulated all Muslim faithful for the successful completion of the fasting in the holy month of Ramadan.
The minister called on the Muslim Ummah to emulate the Holy Prophet (Peace be upon Him) and live by the virtues of kindness, love, tolerance, peace, good neighbourliness, and compassion.
To establish and fortify peace and advance unity in the nation, Tunji-Ojo urged Nigerians to keep up the spirit of oneness.
