The first and second runners-up also received consolation prizes of products and merchandise.

The company’s award-winning Rite Sausages invited participants to write a letter explaining why they thought “The Bull Crossed the Road” and deliver it to Rite Foods’ head office by 7 am on April Fool’s Day. With a touch of playfulness, the letter was addressed to Mr. Rite, adding to the element of surprise.
