CPPE tasks CBN on management of banks’ recapitalisation to avoid economic disruption

As banks in Nigeria begin the process of recapitalization, an economic think-tank, the Centre for the Promotion of Private Enterprise (CPPE) has tasked the Central Bank of Nigeria on the right management of the process to avoid economic disruptions.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Chief Executive Officer of CPPE, Dr Muda Yusuf and obtained by Ripples Nigeria on Monday.

Ripples Nigeria reports that the CBN had in a circular to commercial, merchant and non-interest banks and promoters of proposed banks announced a review of the capital base for the operations of the affected categories of banks in the country.
