Commissioner, ministry for religious affairs, Alhaji Muhammadu Sani Aliyu, has distanced the Kebbi State government from the claim of the chief Imam, of Wala Jumuat Mosque, Birnin Kebbi, Alhaji Rufai Ibrahim that he was relieved of his job because he belongs to the PDP.
Briefing journalists in Birnin Kebbi, the commissioner stated that the chief imam voluntarily resigned for reasons best known to him, though confirmed that his anger may nor be unconnected with the welfare done to all imams of jumuat mosque by Idris led government, which the now former chief imam claimed was shortchanged.
