The high cost of living in the country and the hardship this has generally caused sparked controversies this week after the Federal Government received flak from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors who met in Abuja on Monday to review the state of the nation. The governors, who admitted that they supported the removal of fuel subsidy by the Federal Government, lamented that they had thought there were safeguards embedded in the process. Although the Federal Government and the ruling All Progressives Congress fired back at the opposition party, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Thursday, found it necessary to have a meeting with state governors to discuss possible measures to contain the national drift.
