The Abia State government has announced the immediate suspension of the ongoing relocation of mechanics and spare parts dealers from Aba metropolis to the Ovom Mechanic Cluster in Obingwa Local Government Area. This decision comes in response to the current economic challenges faced by the country, particularly the depreciation of the naira and its impact on businesses.
Announcing the suspension at a meeting with the Aba business community, Deputy Governor Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu emphasized the government’s understanding of the hardship faced by the traders. “The governor, Dr. Alex Otti, empathizes with them over the situation and has directed the suspension of the activities of the task force on the relocation,” he stated.
