Customs moves to streamline cargo clearance with Time Release Study initiative

In a bid to enhance trade and streamline cargo clearance in Nigerian seaports, the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) is prepared to execute the Time Release Study (TRS) with Tincan Island Port, serving as the pilot location.

The Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi made this known at the launch of the World Customs Organisation (WCO)-Assisted Time Release Study in Lagos on Thursday.

TRS is a globally acknowledged tool devised by the World Customs Organisation to facilitate the clearance process of goods from arrival until their physical release.
