Jose Peseiro had initially confirmed that there will be noticeable changes in the starting lineup ahead of the final AFCON 2023 group stage fixture which would be played today, Monday, January 22, 2024, in Ivory Coast.
William Troost Ekong and Zaidu Sanusi have been removed from the team with Kenneth Omeruo and Calvin Bassey both maintaining defensive positions in the squad.
