A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former Delta State governorship aspirant, Chief Sunny Onuesoke, has faulted the situation whereby electricity consumers are made to contribute funds to buy transformers, poles and repair faulty materials on their own.
Onuesoke who described the act of consumers buying transformers, poles and paying for repairs of electricity faults as abnormal, said it was a dereliction of duty by the electricity companies as it is the legal duty of electricity companies to provide “working and operational equipment” regardless of the debts owed by consumers.
