Ibrahim Babangida: I Tried To Make Gani Fawehinmi My Friend But Failed

Babangida who said Fawehinmi was a good man, explained that while his efforts failed, a friend of Fawehinmi and member of his ministerial cabinet, Mr. Alex Akinyele, also tried in vain to spark a friendship between them.

Making the disclosure during an interview on Channels Television on Friday, Babangida added that in the process of formulating many of his policies, he always queried members of his inner circle on the reaction he would receive from Fawehinmi.
