NRM Harps On Rescuing Nigeria From Large-scale Poverty

The leadership of National Rescue Movement (NRM) said it is a national call and deep responsibility for every citizen of Nigeria to rise up to the genuine task of rescuing the nation from large-scale poverty and other challenges.

In a New Year statement signed by the national publicity secretary of the party, Afuye Olusola, he said Nigeria needs to be rescued from the current challenges, leadership deficit and large-scale poverty.

He said as a political party that was founded and positioned to lead this struggle in Nigeria and be a model to other countries in Africa, the NRM shall not relent in its pursuit of a nation governed under the rule of law to engender a peaceful nation that is not only productive but with shared prosperity.

“NRM believes in the support from the people of our nation to make this happen.

Therefore, the NRM is strongly with all Nigerians in the present situation of hardship and despair. Unlike every other season where citizens celebrated amidst surplus, it is rather very unfortunate that inflation has eaten deep into the fabric of our nation due to the bad economic policies of successive governments,” he said.

He added that it was the party’s desire to see every Nigerian happy and to attain their full potential irrespective of the circumstances of their birth.

“We assure Nigerians that in no distant time the Prince (Dr.) Chinedu Obi led National Working Committee shall make the National Rescue Movement leave up to its mandate,” he said.

He condoled with the family, friends and political associates of the late Alhaji Gali Umar Na’abba, the former speaker of the House of Representatives and Arakurin Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN), the former governor of Ondo State, who passed on recently and said their demise is a great loss to the nation at this critical time when every experience and knowledge counts.

“We are equally saddened with the situation in Plateau State and other parts of the country facing terrible insecurity challenges. We condemn in totality this carnage and acts of barbarism. The recurrence of these unprovoked attacks on innocent Nigerians leaves us with the feeling that the leadership of Nigeria is paying lip service to the insecurity situation in our dear nation. The nation’s security forces should live up to the task of securing the lives and property of Nigerians,” he added.

NRM urged Nigerians not to be discouraged, but remain prayerful and resolute while joining its fold in the project to Rescue Nigeria.
