FAKE DEGREES: Nigerian govt shuts down 18 foreign universities, campuses (See list)

In a sweeping move to combat the issuance of fake degrees, the Nigerian government on Tuesday, banned 18 foreign universities operating within the country.

The banned universities include five from the United States, six from the United Kingdom, and three from Ghana. This action highlights the government’s growing concern about the proliferation of unauthorized institutions awarding unverified credentials.

The National Universities Commission (NUC) issued a statement on its website confirming the nationwide ban on these institutions, emphasizing that they lack proper licensing and operate illegally within Nigeria.
