Dr. Blessing Agbomhere, an aspirant in the upcoming Edo State Governorship election, has pledged to eradicate massive poverty and unemployment in the state if he secures the ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and emerges as Governor.
Agbomhere made this commitment in Fugar, Ward 1, Etsako Central Local Government Area, where he officially declared his intention to contest for governor at the ward level. He said that his dedication to serving the people of the state stems from genuine concern and a desire to uplift Edo from its current state of hopelessness and deprivation to a position of economic prosperity.
He attributed the prevalent poverty, unemployment, and lack of industrialization in the state to the corrupt, disorganized, and purposeless leadership of the current administration under Godwin Obaseki. Agbomhere criticized Obaseki’s plan to continue this leadership style by imposing an unpopular candidate on the people.
Promising to leverage his expertise in academics, media, strategic leadership, and international connections, Dr. Agbomhere pledged to rescue and rejuvenate Edo State. He plans to combat poverty through job creation, aiming to attract foreign direct investment to the state.
“I am fully aware of the hopeless and stagnant socio-economic situation in Edo State, which urgently requires innovative and purpose-driven leadership. The dismal state of affairs in the State is concerning, considering the fallout from Governor Godwin Obaseki and his deputy, Philip Shuaibu’s uncoordinated and visionless leadership over the past seven and a half years,” he stated.
Agbomhere urged the people to resist any further attempts to impose incapable leaders upon them, stressing the need for leaders with genuine capacity to drive progress in the state.
