Edo 2024: Agba Promises To Amend Chieftaincy Laws, Faults Governor’s Power To Suspend, Depose Monarchs

Prince Clem Ikanade Agba, one of the frontline All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant for the Edo state governorship election holding on September 21, 2024, weekend promised to free traditional rulers from the excessive power of the state governor to dethrone and/or suspend them, if elected governor of the state.

Prince Agba, who made the promise at Ikpoba Okha local government area (LGA), during continuation of his consultation with party faithful and loyalists, said a situation where a governor could dethrone or suspend a monarch was not healthy for the traditional institution in the state.
