UCL Wrap: Sanusi unravelled in Barcelona; Chukwueze disappointed in Milan

Some Super Eagles stars were in action on Tuesday, but none of them came out with a win

Super Eagles defender Zaidu Sanusi played all 90 minutes of action for Porto when they played Barcelona at the Stadio Olimpico on Tuesday, Soccernet.ng reports.

Sanusi returned to the starting lineup for Porto when they travelled to Spain to take on Spanish kings Barcelona in a game that would decide the winners of Group H.

The Dragons had a dream start, with Pepe scoring on the half-hour mark. However, Joao Cancelo scored the equaliser in the 32nd minute. Then Joao Felix scored the winner in the 67th minute. Nigerian defender Sanusi registered 50 touches, two interceptions, and one tackle.

Sanusi was quite solid on the night, and he could do very little about Barcelona’s goal as they didn’t come from his wing.

In Volksparkstadion, Alhassan Yusuf and Chidera Ejuke were in action for Antwerp in their 1-0 loss to Shakhtar Donetsk. Yusuf started while Ejuke was on the bench. Yusuf had 73 minutes of action and registered 36 touches. Meanwhile, Ejuke was introduced at halftime, and he added some bite to Antwerp’s account.

He had 45 touches, six dribbles, won eight of his duels, and one interception. Unfortunately, his brilliance was not enough to help Antwerp as Mykola Matviienko’s first-half goal sealed the win for Shakhtar Donetsk.

Meanwhile, in Italy, Samuel Chukwueze scored his first goal for AC Milan in their 3-1 loss to Borussia Dortmund at the Giuseppe Meazza stadium.

The Nigerian forward scored his first goal for AC Milan, but it was not enough, as goals from Marco Reus, Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, and Karim Adeyemi sealed the win for the Germans.
