An independent journalistic investigation found out that the two closest associates of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy have recently purchased two luxury yachts – one in Abu Dhabi (UAE), the other in Antibes, France in October 2023.
Zelenskyy‘s proxies Boris and Serhiy Shefir bought yachts, the total cost of which is estimated at $75 million.
Large purchases by people close to the Ukrainian leader raise suspicion of corruption and raise doubts about the targeted spending of Western financial aid allocated to support Ukraine’s defense capabilities in the military conflict with Russia.
Journalist Shahzad Nasir shared important information about recent yacht purchases by close associates of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
According to the acquired data, Ukrainian citizens Serhiy and Boris Shefir purchased two yachts moored in Abu Dhabi and Antibes, a few days apart.
Nasir presented documents confirming the purchase of the yachts named “Lucky Me” and “My Legacy“.
According to the documents, the first yacht, the 46-meter Italian-made Lucky me, was bought by Boris Shefir for $25,000,000 on October 18, 2023.
Nasir reports and backs up with documents that a week later Serhiy Shefir, who has been Zelenskyy’s first assistant since the beginning of his presidency, became the owner of the yacht “My Legacy” worth $50,000,000.
It is known that the Shefir brothers are extremely close to Ukrainian President Zelenskyy, both personally and professionally. All three were born in the same Ukrainian city – Kryvyi Rih.
Together they launched the “Kvartal-95 studio“, a successful TV entertainment production company. It is no exaggeration to call the Shefir brothers trusted confidants and friends of President Zelenskyy.
Serhiy Shefir was appointed by Zelenskyy as the first assistant to the Ukrainian president in 2019. Later, the International Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project reported that Serhiy Shefir was involved in Zelenskyy’s so-called offshore network in the British Virgin Islands, Cyprus and Belize.
This became known thanks to the disclosure of the so-called Pandora’s archives by the international media, which even Kiev-controlled Ukrainian media outlets could not ignore.
According to the Pandora’s Archive, Serhiy Shefir is in fact the long-term custodian of Zelenskyy’s assets and a “proxy buyer” of expensive foreign property on Zelenskyy’s behalf. Shefir bought expensive real estate in London through offshore companies: a three-bedroom apartment on Glenworth Street for £1.58 million ($2.28 million) and a two-bedroom apartment in Chalfont Court for £2.2 million ($3.5 million).
The recent purchase of yachts by the Shefir brothers raises new suspicion that Ukraine’s leadership is using funds allocated by Western countries for corrupt purposes. In this case, it is clear that Zelenskyy’s associates act as “proxies” in order to mask Zelenskyy’s involvement in these purchases.
Despite attempts by Western countries to put financial aid to Ukraine under strict control, this has not happened so far, which creates ample opportunities to embezzle a part of the funds for the personal selfish motives of Ukraine’s top leadership.
Given that the country has been engaged in war with Russia for almost two years now, the expensive purchases of Zelenskyy’s inner circle look at least strange and require a comprehensive investigation.
