UN Day: Nigeria ‘ll tackle poverty, natural disasters with commitment to SDGs – Lawan

Immediate-past President of the Senate, Senator Ahmad Lawan, says Nigeria’s commitment to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) will help the country address the problems of poverty; and natural disasters caused by climate change.

A United Nations report states that in 2022 alone, flooding killed at least 662 people, injured 3,174, displaced about 2.5 million, and destroyed 200,000 houses across Nigeria.
