President Bola Tinubu has submitted a motion to intervene in a case that aims to compel the release of his data by top U.S. security agencies.
President Tinubu in the injection file at the US Court for the Northern District of Columbia, contends that if his request is denied by the court, he would be “adversely affected”.
Aaron Greenspan, the proprietor of PlainSite, a website that promotes legal data transparency to combat corruption in public service, brought the action. Together with Nigerian journalist David Hundeyin, Greenspan had requested Tinubu’s papers under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) in 2022.
