Plumptre made her debut for Al Ittihad, and she put up a superb showing
Super Falcons defender Ashleigh Plumptre scored a hattrick on her debut for Al Ittihad Women in their 3-0 bashing of Eastern Flames, Soccernet reports.
Plumptre just completed her free transfer to Saudi Arabian club Al Ittihad from Leicester City Women in the summer, and she has not taken time to settle into her new environment.
The 25-year-old made her competitive debut for Al Ittihad when they welcomed Eastern Flames in their opening game of the 2023/24 Saudi Arabian Women’s League, and she stole the show.
Plumptre opened the scoring for Al Ittihad in the first half with a well-placed shot.
Then, in the second half, she showed great awareness to pounce on a free kick and struck a beautiful volley into the net to make it 2-0.
Then, in the 66th minute, Plumptre got her third. She showed her killer instinct, getting on the end of a pass from her teammates in the box and sending a precise strike into the net.

Plumptre’s hattrick puts her amongst some Nigerian greats like Rashidi Yekini, Ahmed Musa, and Odion Ighalo, who have all scored hattricks in Saudi Arabia.
She would look to continue with her impeccable form for her side.
