JUST IN: Labour Party Reacts to Lamidi Apapa’s Claims on Discrepancies in Peter Obi’s Certificates

The Labour Party has dismissed claims by a faction of the party that the party’s Presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has discrepancies in his certificates.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Obiora Ifoh, said in a telephone interview with Vanguard on Thursday that the accusations made by Abayomi Arabambi, the publicity secretary of the faction led by Lamidi Apapa, were false and unfounded.

Ifoh said that Arabambi was “obviously doing the bidding of his paymasters who are desperate to destroy our party and distract Nigerians from further querying the less than transparent credentials of Bola Tinubu.”

He said that Obi’s credentials were not in dispute and that his certificates were in the public domain and could be scrutinised by anyone.

Obi has not and will not hire a battery of lawyers to try to block the release of his academic records- he has released them himself,” Ifoh said.

He challenged Arabambi’s principal to do the same and “save our nation further embarrassment.”

The Labour Party’s response emerges in the midst of a growing debate surrounding the credentials of the 2023 presidential candidates, with particular emphasis on President Bola Tinubu’s certificates.
